BIRDS OF PARADISE
Hummingbirds and parrots like jewels in the light, against the tropical green of the huge trees
Using my layering of resin to create a base of varying textures of gold leaf, silver, inks as a background. Then the wildlife artist Maria Heskins painted these fabulous exotic birds on top of my artwork in perfect detail in gouache with colours such as ruby reds, azure blue, bright orange, crimsons, yellow and emerald greens. I then sandpapered some of her details off to make the birds blend into my abstract background to spectacular effect. Hints of a wing in the light or a set of feathers hidden in a tree is the aim.
