This was an inspiring commission to do for a client in Bordeaux, France . He loves waterfalls as I do and it just all came naturally in unison. A local beauty spot is his favourite place to reflect and this was a way to bring this feeling of tranquility into his home. I wanted him to feel the water tumbling and the sound as if there beside him. The client ws very very happy with the results.
The power of water on our Earth has formed valleys and eroded rocks into often magical shapes while on its journey over the surface in the millions of years. It can can be brutally harsh yet so gentle and calming - here we created an oasis of calm.
Materials: hints of resin were added to the white water areas to give the appearance of liquid – while gouache, oil pastel, copper powder, hints of gold leaf ,mineral dye powders and tinted chalk paints were laid down on a bed of textured plaster for the rocks 3 d effect
