I use the real materials in my work like gold leaf, platinum dust, copper foil, silver in layers built up to show the allure of the uneven surface to catch the light. The inks, sprays, and other paints in varying layers give the depth and uneven surfaces as if a jutting outcrop of precious rock or the uneven surface of the mineral filled terrain. You really feel it when you look at it on the wall - a force emanating from out of the artwork. Pure. Raw. Drawing you in.
