NORTHERN LIGHTS 2

The dazzling array of the light show in the atmosphere is a dream for many to se.....it is descending further and further south to show its spectacular effects. This is an alpine light show I painted in resin and inks with precious materials aded in delicately over the Norweigan mountain ranges in the Artic Circle.
Around Spring time the winter snows melt and the early growth of plants and flora and fauna grows in all shades of colour.

I created this alpine scene with lots of fantastic shades of purples, greens, browns, coppers purples, with hints of gold and rust. The white of the snow capped peaks and glacial crevices highlight the surrounding colours. Inks, sprays, acrylics are added to gold and silver and copper dust with the mineral mica in various coloured form giving surface shocks of metallic shimmer....often by blowing the powder over the surface it creates an amazing two tone effect....
