The long journey from the mountains through to the Coast send the river on a journey history not only a geological journey but through a land of battles and folklore going back many millennia.
Fabulous shades of greys, greens silvers , oranges and coppers make up this textured land.
In this painting I decided to keep it simple and let the texture and subtle colouring do the talking. Creating an impressionistic softness with the use of shades of greens, browns, greys, coppers, and hints of yellow and orange.
Materials: On a bed of textured plaster layers of white gouache, oil pastel, copper powder, hints of gold leaf ,mineral dye powders and tinted chalk paints were laid down on a bed of textured plaster for the rocks 3 d effect
