A CHILDHOOD PLACE NEVER FORGOTTEN

A vision in Time, imprinted in my mind of a wild beach, bombarded by storms of the Atlantic. This is County Waterford where I grew up on a farm - this beach across the road. I was indeed very fortunate I realise- for I think these Irish places of magic really do have a special something that you can't quite put into words. It is based on memory, medieval history, lost kingdoms and the all powerful brutal force of the sea and land weather systems.

I was searching for a wild new landscape style for some time.having to work for an exhibition in Margate @cuckoo-gallery.com. Using local materials such as broken chalk from the cliffs to make paint, handmade inks, alcohol, sand, mineral powders, gold and diamond dust in the mix. Acrylics do have superb colours and so does oil pastel for tiny details.
