This has to be seen to be believed.... the tiny bits of colour are actually woven not printed and just dazzle with the fabulous saturation of the bright colours. Silk absorbs colour like no other and even on these small areas on the dark navy each ' splash' just jumps out at you. Pure silk is truly a marvel. Even the dark navy background has a luminosity and vibrancy to it. Silk satin has a beautiful feel to it especially when the bounce of the cushion interior plumps it up and makes it luxuriate in the light.....if there is such ba word.
The silk factory in Suffolk made these for me in a stunning range of colours and it gave the weavers and colourists such joy to be let free and help me create wonders in silk.The weaving machines criss cross each other with the threads weaving in something called the 'warp' and 'weft' to create all the colours in the silk satin. This design made especially for me was one of the finest examples of silk weaving I have ever seen. Exquisite detail.only one set of these exist
