Shallow seas wash up on black sandy beaches, huge waterfalls descend from fabulous peaks over vast undisturbed river plains. Such is the awesome power of Iceland. Created relatively new in terms of geological time frames less than ten million years ago all types of geological activity can be found on the island attributed to hotspot activity beneath the sea from The North Atlantic Ridge.
I created this pink dusky scene with lots of fantastic shades of purples, soft pinks, copper hints, gold and rust. Shades of white and pale blues emphasise the flowing rivers over the
edge of the lava cliffs. the painting has a lovely flow to it and is very very atmospheric. my client in Switzerland loves it so much.
