This was a true meeting of my childhood love of Barbar the elephant and whimsical fantasy prints with flowers and crazy ideas for exotic wildlife to be celebrated. I love to collect old tired vintage chairs and when I saw these 2 vintage 1974 Parker Knoll chairs I knew what they would be a perfect match to cover these really lovely strong sturdy undamaged vintage finds from Margate. They were sitting in a junk shop in Cliftonville and just crying out for love.
On stripping away the tired dated fabric , underneath it was a beautifully made chair created in the early 1970s when Parker Knoll were creating some truly wonderful pieces. The wingback style is timeless and built on a solid hardwood frame and matches any interior. I combined it in my home as seen in the pics with Victorian styling, an Art Deco clock and a Chinese table. It just all works.,
